The music, right out of the gate, was giving me throwback to the John Hughes-era high school dramedies.💥🎶🎵💥
I actually loved that I couldn’t tell if “Girl Scout Cookies” was set in the present day or the 1980s. ❤️🔥❤️🔥
-
- The wardrobe suggested either era, and I effing loved it!
- The money-making montage is so damn 80s!!
- The cinematography! The style! The score! Y’all did that!
- Come on—homegirl’s (Abigail Cregor) constant touching and twirling of her side pony tail!!! 🤣🤣
.
In the end, I figured it was a present day setting—one of the scenes takes place in a school auditorium in the middle of what appeared to be a “Pulp Fiction“(1994) adapted stage play. And then I saw an iPhone used.
The multiple fight scenes were fun! Loved the score, the framing! 🤪😛😝
Yo, this short read like an ode to the 80s teen joints, one of the dopest eras of filmmaking—the artists involved knocked this film out of the park!
