Wow! That took a turn!
Thoroughly enjoy this short! ‘Twas hilarious, especially now that we’re in the midst of a global pandemic of a respiratory infection that can spread via handshaking!
That fact alone makes the absurdity of this screenplay even more hyperbolic, hilarious, and down-right enjoyable. 😂😂
The janitor (played by Jürg Plüss) the unsung hero of the disastrous press conference, was fantastic!
I loved the direction:
…the mood is set. 👀👀
Each politician’s staff is smelling themselves. 🧐🧐🧐
They all are happy to see whatever the deal is signed and ready to go.😊😊😊
Cut to the photographers, who are positioned to capture the mighty handshake to seal the deal. 🤳📷📸🎥📹🤳
The momentum rises. ⬆️⬆️⬆️
The politicians shake hands! 🤝🏻
There’s applause! 👏👏👏
Yay, everyone is happy! 😄😄😄
…but danger is afoot. 😨😱 The handshaking becomes contentious. Gruesome!
Oh no! 😯😲😮
The politicians start to grow hands to one-up their opponent in handshaking vigor, like a hydra.
Oh no! 😖😖😖 It’s out of control! Chaos ensues! 💥💥💥
Oh, but the janitor is viewing all of this go down from the corridor. He’s chillin’. 😎 He seized an opportunity to end it all. His valiant effort makes him a hometown hero. 🦸🏻♂️
So heroic, in fact, that he is presented with a statue. And before the camera goes blank, he’s positioned to grab something being presented to him, but the audience’s view is obstructed.
Cut to a hand, meant for a shake.
Effing lovely. 🥰🥰
