The Cast. This cast was well-balanced and fun! Daniel Craig with the ‘molasses-in-the-throat’ Southern accent was surprisingly perfect for this! I wouldn’t be surprised in he’s recognized for this character. Ana de Armas was fantastic!!! You go, guh! She killed this! Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Christopher Plummer, LaKeith Stanfield and Chris Evans were also awesome in their supporting roles. But, K Callan gets my special praise—good work, mama! 😂😂😂
The Screenplay. Bruh, Rian Johnson did 👏🏾that👏🏾. I loved the immediate call outs to “Clue,” and awkwardness in the diversity of the family. I love the references and call-backs to references with its impressive continuity, all the way up to the very last frame. This was a superbly written “Who Done It?” and may have been the only way to refresh a “Clue”-esque narrative with American politics as the backdrop, rather than a bunch of unrealistic fantasy. It’s crazy, I could identify with every single character, in some way, and could empathize immensely with de Armas’ character and her internal conundrum.
The Costumes & Production Design. 👏🏾🎉👏🏾🎉👏🏾🎉👏🏾
The Direction. Johnson wrote, produced, and directed this feature, that makes me happy. ’Twas delightful and a thrilling affair. I could tell he had a specific voice in how this was shot, how it flowed, the seriousness in the comedic moments, the timing of the thrills. He did an exceptional job.
The Fun. This film was fun. I recommend it!
