Yo! Wow!
I’m floored. The film was surprising, and the conclusion was hilarious. Sis was over the pleasantries! She said “Eff all y’all,” and she meant it.
“Single” was my first time seeing an authentic screenplay about a young, confident, attractive woman (played by Delaney Feener) with a physical disability trying to find love, or just a good ass time. Why is that? 🤔🤔🤔
Her blind date (played by Jordan Wiseley) was hot! But there’s one problem, homie is also differently-abled, and homegirl is effing over it immediately!! 🤣🤣🤣 Yo, her face when she found out he also had a disability sent me!
I loved the couple’s banter during the date, and their post-disastrous date activity🥚🏢—it really broke through the tension and allowed for the opportunity to share traumatic stories from their pasts sans the pity. Sis was still over it though.
I also appreciated that this wasn’t a love story, per se. And that this film also highlighted a woman’s complex relationship with other people’s reactions to her disability, not her coming to terms with anything.
Great short! Highly recommend.
