Three Identical Strangers

This documentary broke me.  This documentary made me want to go back to graduate school and re-read everything about medical ethics.

I had more to say, but I erased it because it would spoil the film. Just a suggestion: do not read reviews before you see this one.

I really want to re-watch this documentary, but I’m refusing to subject myself to the depressing state I left in the theater for at least another three years. It did something to me as a black person and as a scientist, knowing that Tuskegee and other historically traumatic clinical and psychological trials existed at the expense of our autonomy.

Incredibly tragic story. This needs to exist as part of all researchers’ bio-/bio-medical/public health ethics curricula.
